Proposal
During the year 2020, our students went through something that we have never experienced before. They missed so much quality instruction because we were focusing on the safety and well-being of our students during a time of confusion, frustration, isolation, and uncertainty. As we have emerged from this we have had to adjust to a new world of education. During this time of distance learning, learning gaps began to grow, and for some of our students, those gaps grew into canyons. Differentiation and intervention have never been more important to help students make up the ground that they lost during the year 2020.
Using blended learning in the classroom can be a solution to this problem. I have written an Innovation Proposal to explain how blended learning can give a teacher the opportunity to give individualized instruction and flexibility to meet students where they are instead of using one-size-fits-all lessons. This plan will take place over two years and use data collected from student groups to drive instruction. I have put together an implementation plan that outlines what this will look like and what plans will be in place. Blended learning in the classroom has been gaining popularity in the last few years and has been researched by various people, programs, and institutions. In my Literature Review, I took a look at some of this research and found that blended learning can lead to student engagement and increased student achievement when used correctly. With the sudden switch to an all-virtual classroom, I believe we can use some of the best practices we have learned and harness their power to benefit our students and their learning experience.

Blended Learning with Google
Kasey Bell is the queen of all things Google. In this book, she does not teach about google programs but instead teaches how to use Google tools in the classroom. I feel as though I am proficient in GSuite but this book can help find the right tools to increase the learning and/or engagement of students in the classroom.
The Chromebook Infused Classroom
This book is specifically geared towards Chromebook users. It is full of tools, strategies, and ideas that can help teachers use Chromebooks to their fullest potential in the classroom.
Power Up Blended Learning
Using blended learning in the classroom will be a living and breathing task. It will need to change as technology changes, which means continued learning by teachers will be essential. This book goes into extended professional development and takes it beyond a few days at the beginning of the school year.
